Childbirth at Yale-New Haven Hospital

Philosophy of care
Yale-New Haven Hospital recognizes every woman has different expectations about childbirth and different beliefs guiding those choices. Yale-New Haven works with you to make sure your preferences are met, when at all possible. Some women prefer all natural childbirth, using breathing techniques and other supportive means to help them work with their bodies to deliver. Other women take comfort knowing pain relief is available at Yale-New Haven 24-hours-a-day. Finally, women who have cesarean sections can often remain awake during the procedure, allowing women to bond with the baby immediately after birth, with dad present in the room.

Yale-New Haven will work with you to assure the best possible outcome. Because you can't predict when your baby will come, the entire Labor and Delivery team is ready when you are, 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year, to support you through the entire process.
