To request a complete application packet, please E-mail or call the medical staff Office, (203) 688-2615. All other communications regarding a physician's status on the medical staff should be directed to the same office.

Medical Departments and Chiefs of Service

Yale-New Haven Medical Staff IPA, Inc.
The Yale-New Haven IPA was formed in 1987 as a physician membership corporation for the purpose of managed care contracting. It is governed by a seven-physician board of directors elected by the membership. IPA members must have active staff privileges at Yale-New Haven Hospital. The IPA acts in concert with the hospital through the YNHH Physicians Corporation which is known as the PHO. Physicians hold seven of the 10 PHO board positions.

The IPA gives physicians a voice in managed care decision-making and organizational parity with the hospital. To a varying degree, the IPA/PHO governs hospital relationships with Aetna Health Plans, Cigna Healthplans, Connecticare and HealthChoice of Connecticut.

MDlink
MDlink is a secure web portal that allows physicians and their pratices to easily obtain clinical and administrative patient results from a variety of sources throughout the Yale New Haven Health System. The service is highly secure and HIPAA compliant, and now boasts over 1,000 active physician users. It uses encrypted patient information and can be accessed using a biometric fingerprint reader. MDlink can be used to connect to remote clinical systems applications from each facility in the Yale New Haven Health System. MDlink can also be used as a communication tool between practices and a means of sending and receiving clinical referrals. A prescription writing tool is available within MDlink to help the physician, practice or clinic. For more information about MDlink, call (203) 688-8844 or
