Do you follow bike safety rules?

Do you follow bike safety rules? Every year, many children who do not are hurt badly. Some even have to go to the hospital.

Be sure your bike is the right size for you:

  1. Sit on the seat with your hands on the handlebars. The balls of your feet should reach the ground.
  2. You should be able to reach the brakes easily when sitting on the seat.
  3. Are you able to stand over the center bar with both feet on the ground and still have an inch or so between the crotch of your pants and the bar?
Always wear a helmet
The helmet must be buckled and fit snugly. This will help protect your head and brain if you fall.

Most bikes are made for one rider. Ride on your bike alone and be safe!

Activity
Make a list with your family about other bike safety tips.
