Is safety a game?
Let's play a safety game! Try this with your family at home or while
together in the car.
Think of a question using a safety rule you know.
Ask a question like:
"What should you do if your clothes catch on fire?"
Make up (1), (2) or (3) choices (be sure at least one choice is correct)
Answer
1. Run quickly to the phone and call 911.
2. Drop to the ground, and roll over and over.
3. Try to take off your clothes.
The correct answer is 2.
Whatever you do, make sure you know the right answer. If you don't know,
ask a grownup for help.
Give one point for each question answered right. The one with the most
points knows best how to stay safe, but everybody wins when they learn
about safety.
Here are some "What Should You Do If..." questions to get your family
started.
What should you do if...
- You get a cut?
- You get stung by a bee?
- You want to cross the street?
- Your ball goes into the road?
- You break a glass?
Activity
Have fun playing this game while helping keep your family safe.
