Learning to live with ticksIn the spring, deer ticks are as small as a poppy seed. In the fall they are a little bigger. Some deer ticks carry a germ that can cause Lyme Disease. To reduce the chance of a tick bite:
If you find a tick on your body, don't panic. Remove the tick with tweezers, pulling gently back and forth. Then scrub the area with soap and water. Over the next several days, watch for sore throats, fevers, rashes, joint pain or a flu-like illness. You do not need medicine just for a tick bite because most deer ticks do not cause Lyme Disease. You will not need medicine unless you actually have Lyme Disease. Activity
